See you on Sunday!

Today, the CDC released the new rates of the prevalence of autism in children, 1:59. These numbers represent why it is important for the Hudson Valley Autism Society to continue our mission to serve the Autism Community in Ulster, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, Columbia and Dutchess counties. This upcoming Sunday, HVAS's largest fundraiser of the year, our annual Walk & Expo, will raise money that goes directly back to this community to provide services, grants, and programs to under-served families, and children and adults on the autism spectrum. At this year's 17th annual event, we are excited to welcome back, emcee Chris Marino from Q92, local self-advocate, Brian Liston will be opening the event, a local Girl Scout Troop will be providing the flag ceremony, Nick Scott will be singing the National Anthem, and we will be releasing doves. In our expo tent, we have a number of great vendors, from Jesse Saperstein selling his award winning books, to the Anderson Center for Autism, the Ridge School, the Center for Spectrum Services, Ulster/Greene ARC, Ulster BOCES, Taconic Resources for Independence, RCAL, the Renegades, Camp Huntington, Abilities First, and many more. Come experience our sensory activities in our kids area. GRASP will also be on site providing free mini soccer workshops for all ages! Finally, we are thankful to our sponsors, The Anderson Center for Autism, Dave's Tree Service, Fishkill Pools, Home Depot of Wappinger's Falls, Rifton, and the Down Syndrome Association of the Hudson Valley. We are looking forward to see you all there!
